The Long/Short Weekend

Mandy went to California this past weekend, in fact she flies in to Bellingham tonight. Mini and I are pretty excited.

It was a great and uneventful weekend. We played and painted and watched movies. We stayed up late, we snuggled a lot, we ate popcorn.

Friday i dropped her off and picked her at school and her and I went to dinner. Saturday, we had blueberry scones at Avenue Bread breakfast as we always do. Then we drove down to Grandma Leslie's for a sleepover. Freda loves staying with grandma Leslie. She always has many stories and laughs. She never seems to get enough sleep at grandma's which is understandable in 4 different ways haha. Thanks again Grandma Leslie! She was excited to see me and as it was closing in on nap time. After lunch at the Chuck Wagon, I had to play the "cold-wind-in-the-face-car-window-game" to keep her awake. We laughed so hard my face hurt. Her giggle is viral. When wind takes her breath away it's one the the cutest things ever.

On the way home she saw a Big Scoop ice cream parlor. She can pick an ice cream cone out of nowhere, it's uncanny. So she would not let up on Big Scoop. It's always pink ice cream too, always pink. So after nap, we went to dinner and then to Cold Stone Creamery. She was in Heaven. She ended up getting blue cotton candy ice cream with sprinkles. We got up today and i dropped her off at school. On the way we talked about dreams. A good dream is apparently about things like Unicorns, new jammies,  palm trees and a toy. She also asked me why a flamingo stands on one foot? She is sexing everything right now, and she labels everything according to boy/girl. She ordered her own food twice this weekend. She refuses to use the potty training seat for the big toilet now. I guess thats not how big girls do it...

Our long weekend alone seemed a lot shorter than it was. I can't wait to go get her and then Mandy today. So. Excited.

Freda sleepovers are always the best!! Met Nana Sharon & Uncle Martin for lunch, read books, took a nap, went to the park, visited with Greatgrandma Freda, ate dinner, played games, took a bath, read more books, giggled and laughed for 1/2 hr before falling asleep. Woke up, ate breakfast, painted our nails, walked and ran around the block with the dogs, blew bubbles outside, watched a movie, read more books. Oh Freda, you are such a delight!! You wear me out (or is it the other way around) and energize me at the same time. Miss you so much after you leave, the house is way too quiet. Always look forward to the next time. I am so blessed that your wonderful Mom and Dad will let you spend precious time with me. I love you more than you will ever know!
